Renee confronts Ben, who insists that he's not sleeping with Bree - she just needs a shoulder to cry on. But when Renee sees them hugging, she gets the wrong idea. Ben's all lovely to her, urging her to reconnect with her friends and get back on the wagon. The next morning, Ben comes to check on Bree - turns out she drunkenly borrowed money from him at 2am and then shouted at him when he wouldn't make pancakes. She ends up drinking in a bar and drunkenly hijacking drinks with a bunch of women on a night out (they're basically versions of Susan, Gaby and Lynette and are rightly horrified to have their night ruined.) Funnily enough, they don't take to Bree's idea of a sleepover - especially when she begins whining about everything she's lost in life. What a pickle!īut let's return to Bree, and her relapse. Lynette tries to apologise to her ex, but he's fuming too. Jane decides to go to Paris - Tom can meet her there if he wants to. And even Lynette saying it's not Tom's fault doesn't help. Of course, Jane comes looking for Tom and is furious to find him in the bathroom with Lynette (wouldn't you be?) Tom tries to explain, but of course he can't tell her why exactly he can't go to Paris now. Lynette heads straight to the airport and corners Tom in the bathroom (I know, right? Not creepy at all.) He's not impressed at her hijacking his trip to Paris, but Lynette insists she's fine with that, then melodramatically shouts: "I'm an accessory to murder!" It's kind of incredible. Jane's daughter Chloe isn't too keen to give up the flight details, either (considering Lynette's been a bit loopy recently), but Lynette can be persuasive when she wants to be. he's checked out of rehab!Īs for Lynette, she's determined to tell Tom everything about Alejandro - after all, what will happen to the kids if she ends up in prison? Unfortunately, he's off on a romantic trip to Paris with Jane. Gaby calls Carlos in desperation, but uh oh. What's more, he wants her to come in for questioning the next morning. Later, though, Chuck finds Gaby at home and reveals that he knows Alejandro was her stepfather. Carlos is a little bit worried about Chuck and is furious that he's stuck in rehab, but all Gaby wants is for him to get better. She's not allowed in - Carlos is on restricted access - but she hijacks a family bringing in their son and gets in that way (hilarious japes ensue, etc, when she ends up in family therapy.)Įventually, though, she gets to Carlos and advises him to lie about having an affair. The only problem is that Mike does not want to move - and if Susan really wants to do this, she's on her own.Īs for Gaby, she's concerned that Chuck will check up on her Carlos-having-an-affair story, so she goes to rehab to see her husband. He'll set her up with an apartment and everything! Susan's unconvinced at first, but realises that actually she has no reason to stay in Fairview, and if she's going to go to prison she might as well enjoy her life first. He does manage to cobble the money together for Susan, but he's so impressed with her that he has another proposition - he wants her to move to New York to paint for a while. But he is intrigued about why she wants to leave town so desperately. Unfortunately, Felix is having a bit of a cash flow problem and it will be weeks until he can give Susan her money. Despite all of Mike's reassurances, she decides the best thing to do would be to skip town for a couple of days and goes to see gallery owner Felix to get her cheque (she needs money, after all). Susan panics after her interview, convinced that Chuck knew she was lying. And Gaby is trying to convince Chuck that Carlos is in rehab not because of anything like a murder, but because he had an affair ("I know, right? Who would cheat on this?") Lynette's calm and collected (until Chuck brings Tom into it, and she slaps him). Susan is the worst liar ever, jittery and nervous. It's not going well for Gaby, Susan and Lynette either, to be fair - Chuck's called them all down to the station for questioning. In fact, things are so bad that Bree's taken to drinking again. The women have all shut Bree out, blaming her for the mess they've found themselves in - it's not a happy time to be on Wisteria Lane, really. Luckily, the momentum wasn't really lost - this was one of the better episodes of Housewives this season, and had a stunning ending. It's been a while since we had an episode of Desperate Housewives to enjoy, which is a shame - things were just getting nice and juicy with evil Chuck getting closer to the ladies when we ended up on hiatus.
